TUF 17 Finale drug tests come back clean

Urijah-Faber - MMAWEEKLYThe UFC is poised to deliver an action packed lineup for action on free television tonight with UFC on FOX 7, but last weekend those characteristics applied to the Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale. The card was full of finishes including headliner Urijah Faber’s fourth-frame submission of seasoned adversary Scott Jorgensen. Also at the show, Kelvin Gastelum emerged as the Ultimate Fighter 17 champ, while Travis Browne blasted Gabriel Gonzaga and Cat Zingano secured a title-shot by taking out Miesha Tate.

The Nevada Athletic Commission recently released drug testing results for the event and, fortunately, no infractions were cited. The regulatory board’s press release also stated every fighter had been tested.

The clean bill was not necessarily a surprise as none of the evening’s athletes had a history with drug abuse.
