Julie Kedzie colliding with Germaine de Randamie at UFC on FOX 8

Germanie de Randamie - MMAWEEKLYWith a pair of entertaining efforts in the past and more potential-laden pairings on the horizon, the UFC has lived up to the promise of putting female fighters on the sport’s biggest stage and doesn’t appear to be backing off any time soon. The latest bout booked by the organization featuring women opposing one another in the Octagon was recently announced and it should prove to be another excellent affair, pitting veteran Julie Kedzie against Dutch striker Germaine da Randamie at UFC on FOX 8.

UFC officials have confirmed the clash’s addition to the July 27 card. No headliner has been announced but the lineup is currently set to feature fights including Tarec Saffiedine-Robbie Lawler, Melvin Guillard-Mac Danzig, and Jake Ellenberger-Rory MacDonald.

Kedzie, who trains with Greg Jackson’s camp and moonlights as an Invicta FC broadcaster, holds an overall record of 16-11 including wins over Kaitlin Young and Sarah D’Alelio. She has never been knocked out in her career, adding an interesting dynamic considering her foe’s reputation in the stand-up department.

De Randamie is only 3-2 since transitioning to MMA but the “Iron Lady” was 37-0 as a kickboxer. She was last seen outpointing Hiroko Yamanaka last August at a Strikeforce event.
