Sarah Kaufman injured, Kaitlin Young rematches Leslie Smith at Invicta FC 3

Sarah Kaufman has suffered an injury which has forced her to withdraw from her scheduled bantamweight bout against Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 3.

Invicta officials announced that Young (7-6-1) will now rematch Leslie Smith (3-2-1). The pair previously met at Invicta FC 1 where they fought to a split draw in a “Fight of the Night” performance.

Smith was already scheduled to meet undefeated Kim Connor-Hamby (4-0) on the fight card. It was also announced that Raquel Pennington (3-1) will step in to take on Connor-Hamby.

Invicta FC 3 takes place from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City on October 6th. The main event features the inaugural Invicta FC women’s world championship fight matching atomweights Jessica Penne and Naho “Sugi Rock” Sugiyama.
