Stephan Bonnar – The record setting underdog feels no pressure at UFC 153

Stephan “The American Psycho” Bonnar has found himself from basically retired to the biggest fight that he could imagine against Anderson Silva. Bonnar and Silva will square off in a light heavyweight bout as the main event of UFC 153. The unlikely pairing came after injuries forced Jose Aldo and Rampage Jackson out of their scheduled main and co-main fights at UFC 153.

Bonnar, the Ultimate Fighter 1 runner-up, has not fought since November 2011 when he outpointed Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 139. Bonnar insists that the clash with middleweight champion Silva is exactly the type of fight that he loves. He readily accepted the challenge saying that there is absolutely no pressure on him and he has nothing to lose. As Bonnar put it, there is no shame in getting your a** kicked by Silva but as you know anything can happen in mixed martial arts.

UFC 153 takes place on Saturday, October 13th in Silva’s home country of Brazil.
