UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones is out to defend his title for the fourth time when he takes on Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort in the main event of UFC 152 on September 22nd. Jones’ success is often attributed to him being a “freak athlete”, however, he truly believes it is his physical and mental preparation. He says that he thrives on being prepared for his opponent and what he is getting into. In his title defense against Belfort he will need to be prepared to take on an explosive veteran and former champion.
Belfort readily accepted the opportunity to face Jones following the fall-out of the cancellation of UFC 151. Belfort seems himself as the “old lion” in a match-up against a new breed of fighter in Jones.
UFC 152 takes place from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The co-main event of the fight card is the inaugural flyweight championship fight matching Joseph Benavidez against Demetrious Johnson.
