So I have this 17 year old cousin who's mom passed away tragically and unexpectedly about 18 months ago. He was born and raised in Oakland/Richmond area and he's since moved down to my neck of the woods(South San Diego)to live with my aunt(his mom's sister). Anyway, the kid is in school and he recently took up wrestling and he loved it. I also noticed that he doesn't have too many male influences in his life(His step-dad stayed in the bay area and his birth father passed away years ago).
He lives with my aunt/his guardian and my other aunt and all kind of related lady Mexicans. I told my aunt/his guardian that I would try to be a positive male role model for him and in the process realized he was really into learning BJJ & Muay Thai. So that lead to us taking some muay thai classes together and ultimately I figured alliance would be the best fit since it's 2 minutes from his house. The thing is, he was in school when I went to sign up today and now that I just called him, I realized that it might be too much money for him or that maybe he was just not that into it. So now I'm signed up to do Muay Thai & BJJ & Wrestling and the kid I did it for might not even be able to do it.
