Renan Barao Officially Out Of UFC 161 Main Event

The UFC has made it official. Over the UFC On FX 8: Belfort Vs Rockhold fight weekend in Brazil it was learned that Interim Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao had sustained an injury to his foot and his main event bout with Eddie Wineland was in jeopardy. According to reports, Barao has torn ligaments in his foot, and he will not be able to fight at UFC 161 which is scheduled for June 15 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Canada.

MMAJunkie was the first to report the bout cancellation. The UFC has made announcement as to what plan B might be, or if they will choose to rely on the Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Mauricio Rua and Rashad Evans vs. Dan Henderson bouts carry the card.
