UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez made his first successful title defense in a rematch with Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva not even a minute and a half in the first round.
Velasquez attempted to take Silva down tonight twice and was shrugged off. This made it seem like the two might be in for a longer fight than some might have anticipated, but that was anything but the case.
The champ made quick work of Silva with a left followed by a right that put Silva down and almost out. Velasquez swarmed and the referee waived it off. Silva started to protest, but the stoppage was clean.
After the impressive UFC 160 performances offered by Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos; it would not be surprising if a rubber match was setup for later in the year.
