Matt Brown and Thiago Alves To Fight On Innaugural FOX Sports 1 Card

Matt Brown and Thiago Alves have signed on to be a part of the first UFC On FOX Sports 1 card set to take place in Boston. Brown has put together an impressive five fight winning streak, of which he finished four, and with a win over Alves he is a shoe in for a crack at the welterweight title. Alves last fought Martin Kampmann in March of 2012 and he lost via submission with only 35 seconds left in the fight. A win over Brown would reestablish his name in the division.

MMAFighting was the first to report the story. UFC On FOX Sports1 1 takes place on August 17 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The US have made no announcement as to who will be the main event for the card, but UFC President Dana White has promised it will be the best card they have ever put on free tv.
