"There was so much wrong going on in my head. I remember looking across the ring like, dang, I done pissed him off and he's comin' hard. It sucks. It really sucks losing, especially a fight like that. That's my second time being up there for contendership and losing, going back to the end of the pile... Emotionally you don't want to talk to anybody. You don't want to hear about it. You don't want to see it. I remember going over to my grandma's. We're watchin' it one time then we're deleting it off the DVR and not talking about it again... It's like, I don't know if it's the camera or the pressure, but I've got to figure that out. Whatever makes me fight hard to get there, and then I seem to, like, fold under pressure. I don't know. I'm tryin' to [figure it out]. I got a new sports psychologist tryin' to work those kinks out."

-Donald Cerrone talks to MMAFighting.com about what was going through his head against Anthony Pettis at UFC on Fox 6 and trying to figure out why he's fallen in big fights.

Penick's Analysis: Cerrone's showing some rare introspection in regards to his fight game recently, and it's positive to see. Trying to find out what's gone wrong is the first step in fixing it to improve the next time out, and he has seemed to have had issues when the pressure's on. Especially when he's talked the fight up, as we saw against both Pettis and Nate Diaz. Maybe he's putting that on himself with how much trash talking he did into both fights, and that pressure to live up to the trash talk got the best of him. Whatever it's been, he's on a path to get it figured out, and he's looking to start another run back up to one of those big fights when he fights K.J. Noons this month.
