Alex Caceres (Pictured) and Riki Fukuda have flunked their post-fight drug exams following UFC on FUEL TV 8.
Caceres tested positive for marijuana metabolites after posting a split decision victory over Kyung Ho Kang. “Bruce Leeroy” has agreed to attend drug rehabilitation classes and will receive a six-month suspension retroactive to the March 3 fight date.
He must pass a drug test upon completion of the suspension before receiving clearance to compete again.
In addition, the 24-year-old’s win was overturned to a no contest.
Fukuda’s situation is much more dire. His urinalysis showed the presence of Phenylpropanolamine, Norpseudoephedrine and Ephedrine, which are banned stimulants. The 32-year-old was released after losing to Brad Tavares and the results of his positive test will be reported to the official Association of Boxing Commissions.
He will likely be issued a year-long ban.
The card’s remaining 20 fighters all passed their drug tests.
Caceres and Fukuda join the likes of Matt Riddle, Thiago Tavares, Rousimar Palhares, Thiago Silva, Stephan Bonnar, Jake Shields and Ed Herman to recently flunk drug tests under the UFC’s watch.
It was reported Monday that Lavar Johnson screened positive for elevated levels of testosterone after losing to Brendan Schaub at UFC 157. Although, the promotion has yet to confirm Johnson’s situation.
UFC on FUEL TV 8 took place inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
