Dan Hardy out, Jordan Mein in against Matt Brown at UFC on FOX 7

Jordan Mein - StrikeforceUFC welterweight Dan Hardy’s hopes of picking up a third straight win have been put on hold after “The Outlaw” suffered an injury while training and has been forced out of an April 20 effort against Matt Brown at UFC on FOX 7. No details were offered on Hardy’s condition or his timetable for return.

Though Hardy may be out of the match-up, Brown will still see action at the event, as rising star Jordan Mein has agreed to fill the vacancy despite the short turnaround involved. UFC officials have confirmed the change.

The 23-year old Mein, who fought Dan Miller last weekend at UFC 158 and picked up an opening round TKO, will actually be the more-experienced competitor when he gets in the cage with Brown despite being nine years younger. Mein holds an overall record of 27-8 with 22 stoppages and success in nine of his last ten tilts.

Brown is 16-11 including fourteen finishes of his own. He is currently on the first four-fight run of his career with three of the wins involving knockouts.
