Last month, it was reported The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas had cut UFC president Dana White’s (Pictured) gambling credit line in half and that’s why the mixed martial arts promotion will no longer hold events at The Pearl.
Over the weekend, White confirmed the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s publication.
“I had a little beef with the Palms, and I ripped the UFC out of there,” White said with a smirk. “The story is true.”
Curiosity arose when the UFC decided to host December 15th’s “The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale” at the Hard Rock Hotel, a venue they haven’t hit up to since November of 2006.
The UFC had an exclusive contract with the Palms to hold “The Ultimate Fighter Finale” events, as well as other smaller Octagon shows inside The Pearl. Immediately after the credit cut, White took his talents to the Palms’ biggest off-strip rival.
Unfortunately for some of the Palms’ employees, they became collateral damage when White decided to sever ties with the once-popular casino.
According to the LVRJ, during a two-month hot streak, White allegedly dished out $100,000 to dealers for sending him their good luck vibes. In addition, White was a regular at the casino’s famous N9NE Steakhouse where he routinely ran up dinner tabs of $20,000 and tossed in $10,000 tips.
The UFC has been to Vegas’ Hard Rock seven times in the past, including three TUF finales. The organization’s last card at Palms was June’s TUF 15 Finale.
