The UFC has been looking at stadium shows for the past few years while waiting for the right card and conditions to materialize. Though Cowboys Stadium has long seemed to be the frontrunner in that regard, it now appears the Las Vegas Motor Speedway could end up hosting the organization’s first outdoors event.
According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, UFC President Dana White has been in discussions with track officials for a show in 2013.
“I like it. It would be cool as hell, and we have a few fights coming up that could pull it off,” said White.
The track can hold more than 140,000 fans. No specifics were mentioned by White in terms of the upcoming clashes he felt were suitable for such a spectacle.
