Michael Kuiper Removed From UFC on FOX 6 Card After Four Opponents Pull Out

MichaelKuiper_Headshot2012

We have heard of curses in sports, and even a few in MMA, but middleweight Michael Kuiper might have one all to himself. Kuiper went through having fights on two different cards and four opponents before he eventually removed from the UFC on FOX 6: Johnson vs. Dodson.

The quick version goes like this…

Kuiper signed to fight at UFC on FX 7 in Brazil against Thiago Perpetuo, but he was injured and replaced by Caio Magalhaes. In early December, Magalhaes pulled out of the bout, but a replacement could not be found to fight him in Brazil. However, Buddy Roberts agreed to the fight, and they moved Kuiper to the UFC on FOX 6 card in Chicago. Two weeks ago, Roberts bowed out of the fight, and the UFC signed Josh Janousek to the bout. It was announced today, that Janousek has pulled out of the planned pairing and the UFC has decided to remove him completely from the card.

There has been no indication from UFC officials as to when Kuiper will be re-booked. UFC on FOX 6 takes place this Saturday night in Chicago, IL. Fans can watch the action for free at home on FOX.
