Anderson Silva not sure what’s next with Michael Bisping off the table

UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva recently signed a lengthy extension to stay with the organization into his 40s if so desired. However, opponents for “The Spider” seem to be dropping like flies, as welterweight king Georges St-Pierre opted to remain at 170 pounds instead of move up for a super-fight with Silva and contenders like Tim Boetsch, Alan Belcher, and Michael Bisping have all fallen in the past few weeks.

Silva, who was in attendance last night when Bisping was rendered into goo by Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 7, was asked to weigh-in on his immediate future in the Octagon and didn’t have a lot of answers in light of the Brit’s stumble.

“I don’t know. I need to talk to Dana (White) and Lorenzo (Fertitta),” said Silva to Fuel TV after the show’s conclusion, referring to the UFC’s chief executives.

The 37-year old also confirmed he still wants to mix it up with GSP at some point down the road, yet never once mentioned top contender Chris Weidman as a possibility.

“Georges has time, I have time. This is Lorenzo and Dana’s decision. I’m here to fight,” stated Silva, making it clear that even though he’d supposedly signed a ten-tilt deal he didn’t necessarily plan on competing that many times. “This is not real…but maybe, maybe.”
