Bellator is back in action this Thursday night on Spike TV as they return to Michagain for the Season 8 lightweight tournament quarterfinal fights. Thiago Michel Pereira Silva, Alexander Sarnavskiy, Will Brooks, Ricardo Tirloni, Patricky “Pitbull” Freire, Guillaume DeLorenzi, David Rickels and Lloyd Woodard will all fight to narrow the field to four to see who gets a step closer to current Bellator lightweight champion Mike Chandler. Round 1
After a short feeling out process, Sarnavskiy lands a big right hand that drops Michel, but he doesn’t go for the finish. Sarnavskiy is showing some solid kickboxing, and is keeping Michel at distance well. Seems like Michel is having a hard time pulling the trigger. Michel so far has been eating a steady diet of one-twos, and some body kicks. Michel slowly waking up, and is coming forward more, but he is moving into the right hand of Sarnavskiy. Sarnavskiy catches a kick, and makes Michel pay with a solid combination that backs up Michel. Michel gets an outside trip, and pulls Sarnavskiy into a guillotine, but the bell rings.

Sarnavskiy wasting no time coming forward and throwing combinations. Sarnavskiy starts a scramble, and pulls Michel to the floor, but Michel pops up with no damage. Sarnavskiy clinching on the fence now, and not much is happening. Sarnavskiy finally gets the takedown, but Michel scrambles and Sarnavskiy ends up on his back. Sarnavskiy squeezes and frames up a choke, and is able is to get the tap to rear naked choke.

Saad Awad vs. Guillaume DeLorenzi
Round 1
DeLorenzi comes out fired up, but Awad is stalking him early. Awad lands a HUGE right hand that rattles DeLorenzi, and he finished him with left hands. Wow, impressive stuff from the last minute fill in.

Will Brooks vs. Ricardo Tirloni
Round 1
Brooks takes the center, and no feeling out process here. Both exchanging kicks, and Brooks almosts lands a huge knee. Tirloni is having a hard time finding a home for his strikes, and he shoots for a takedown. Tirloni runs all over the cage, and finally gets the takedown. Brooks scrambles up. and gets a takedown of his own. Only a little ground and pound from Brooks, but Tirloni is framing up triangles. He almost gets it twice, but Brooks shakes free both times. Brooks landing some ground and pound more frequently now. Brooks finishes on top landing GNP.

Brooks is landing jabs early, and is definitely the fresher fighter. Brooks dove in for the takedown and gets it. Brooks goes to work landing ground and pound, and has Tirloni smashed up against the fence. Brooks lets him up, and right back in for the takedown. Tirloni almost gets the guillotine, but Brooks does well to pop up. Tirloni rolls for a leg lock, but uses it to get up. Tirloni lands a nice combination, but Brooks is landing nice kicks. Brooks takes one to the pills, and we stop the action. Time in and Brooks is going back to the jabs, and is keeping Tirloni at the end of his punches. Tirloni goes for a takedown, but doesn’t get it.

Brooks the fresher fighter here, and he s flashing his jab nicely. Tirloni seems to be chasiing him around the ring, and Brooks is displaying nice footwork. Brooks shoots for a takedown, and gets it. Tirloni doing a good job of tying Brooks up here, but Brooks moves into ½ guard. Brooks stands up, and Tirloni scrambles to his feet. Tirloni lands some knees on the break, but Brooks is just having his way with him in the grappling. Tirloni almost gets triangle in the closing seconds, but Brooks escapes.

David Rickels vs. Lloyd Woodard
Round 1
Woodard putting the pressure on early, and scrambles to the back of Rickels standing. Woodard gets the belly to back suplex, and Woodard slips to his back. Woodard scrambles to the top position, and he starts landing some gnp. Rickels comes close to getting a triangle, but Woodard slams his way out of it. All Woodard so far from the top. Fighters foot locks, and Rickels scrambles to the top, and almost throws Woodard. Round ends.

Rickels coming forward early, and looks like the fresher fighter. Rickels is coming forward, and is landing combinations. Rickels clinches on the fence, and starts landing knees to the body of Woodard. Rickels is coming forward, and Rickels throws a knee and slips. Woodard pounces and is landing shots from the top. Rickels is framing up arm bars and triangles, but so far Woodard has been scrambling well. Rickels scrambles up and is kneeing Woodard on the fence. Rickels lands a big right hand, and it looks like Woodard is hurt but he gets the takedown. Rickels eats some shots from the bottom, and the round ends.

Round 3
Rickels definitely the fresher man, and he is closing the distance on Woodard well. Rickels is landing everything he is throwing right now. Rickels lands a huge right left combination, and is working over Woodard. Woodard goes for a flying knee but eats two punches and almost gets dropped. One way traffic so far for Rickels in the round. Woodard is looking to land a counter, but he is way too slow at this point.
