This past April UFC lightweight Ross Pearson was arrested in Las Vegas while serving as an assistant coach on TUF 15, raising questions about the fighter’s future after he went on to lose a bout later in the summer. However, it appears Pearson may not have been in the wrong after all, as the charge against him has been dropped.
Pearson revealed the good news in a conversation with MMAJunkie, explaining he was with a group of friends partying but hadn’t actually been drinking himself.
“I didn’t get a breathalyzer,” explained the Ultimate Fighter 9 winner. “There was no record of me being drunk, when I wasn’t drunk. I’d been at a nightclub, out celebrating with the team. But I wasn’t drinking. I was getting ready for a fight.”
The 28-year old recently made his return to the 155-pound pool after a stint at heavyweight, coming back in victorious fashion with a knockout win over rival George Sotiropoulos. The win improved his overall record to 14-6 and was his fourth by way of strike-based stoppage.
