Dana White: Benson Henderson won’t get shot at title next

Josh Thomson had his shot at UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis on the line Saturday night in his UFC on Fox 10 main event contest against Benson Henderson. Thomson lost a split decision but fans shouldn't expect Henderson to get the title shot Thomson had coming to him.

"No," UFC president Dana White's answered bluntly when asked if the former champ Henderson had earned another crack at the belt.

A narrow and controversial decision win over Thomson wasn't enough to have fans or White clamoring for a third Pettis vs. Henderson fight. After all, Pettis has decisively beaten Henderson twice already.

"It was way off," White said on FOX Sports Live of the judges' scores.

"You know, at the end of the day, did... I don't know. I mean, it definitely wasn't that wide of a margin. If you had Henderson winning it, it wasn't by that wide of a margin.

“Ben Henderson lost twice to Pettis, the champion, and he got destroyed last fight. He didn’t do anything that’s going to have anybody screaming, ‘Oh, I want to see him get another shot at Pettis.’”

Henderson has said that he'll fight whomever the UFC puts in front of him in order to get back to a title shot. If he's not getting another one next and a rematch with Thomson is immediately out of the question because of "The Punk's" hurt right hand and possible retirement, who do you want to see "Bendo" take on next?
