Feeling a lot better about my training

I was able to keep a blue belt in my guard until the time limit. Today I tapped out another guy about 6 times in a row. But I still suck at escaping side control. Both these guys are much smaller than me so I know my size is an unfair advantage.

The only regular at my gym that is my weight got his blue belt recently and he still regularly destroys me, but I'm definitely feeling like I'm improving. I'll compete again next year.

Julie Kedzie Draws Undefeated Bethe Correia as New Opponent for UFC Brisbane

http://www.mmaweekly.com/julie-kedzi...r-ufc-brisbane

Originally slated to face undefeated Russian fighter Aleksandra Albu, Julie Kedzie finally has a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane, Australia, after Albu had to bow out due to injury.

UFC officials announced on Tuesday announced that Brazilian fighter Bethe Correia – also undefeated at 6-0 – has agreed to step in and fight Kedzie.

The fight will take place at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Dec. 7 (Dec. 6 in the U.S.). It marks Correia’s first fight outside of her home country.

Kedzie, a women’s MMA veteran, is looking to get back on a winning track after losing her last three fights. In her latest bout, Kedzie dropped her UFC debut to Germaine de Randamie at UFC on Fox 8 by split decision. The Jackson’s MMA fighter is 16-12 overall.

A heavyweight bout between Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva headlines the UFC Fight Night 33 card.

Ross Pearson vs. Melvin Guillard rematch set for March 8 in London

The co-main event for Saturday's UFC Fight Night 30 ended anti-climactically when Melvin Guillard unintentionally hit and cut open the head of Ross Pearson with an illegal knee and the fight was ruled a no-contest in the first round. With both sluggers eager to finish the bout right, the UFC wasted no time in scheduling a rematch between the pair.

Pearson vs. Guillard II is now set for March 8 in London when the UFC returns to the U.K. Before the no-contest, Pearson was riding a two fight win streak and Guillard had won his last bout in June over Mac Danzig by KO.

Wanderlei Silva, Chael Sonnen to coach against each other on ‘TUF: Brazil’ and then fight in 2014

Chael Sonnen’s marketability and vicious trash talk have made him perhaps the most wanted man in MMA. Sonnen fighting is in such big demand, in fact, that he now has not just one but two opponents lined up.

Sonnen is already set to face former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans in November at UFC 167. While interviewing his boss UFC president Dana White on a segment for Fox Sports Live – The American Gangster’s night job – Sonnen learned, however, that he will also be a coach on the third season of "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil" opposite his nemesis Wandelei Silva.

"You two will coach The Ultimate Fighter. You will have a ton of security down there with you, and it should be a fun season," White told Sonnen, perhaps only half-joking about the need for security.

In interviews and in tweets, Sonnen has insulted many national Brazilian fight heroes and, indeed the entire country, often deriding them as being primitive. The xenophobic speech from Sonnen appeared to draw the sincere ire of Silva three years ago and Silva confronted Sonnen in person during an exchange caught on tape (video below).

Silva told Sonnen that he knew nothing of Brazil or its people and that he should keep quiet or that he could get hurt. Sonnen did not fire back at Silva in person but has since used the web and airwaves to hurl insults at the former champion.

Silva has since lobbied hard to fight Sonnen, but injuries will keep him out of action until 2014. White said that Silva and Sonnen will indeed fight one another after coaching on TUF: Brazil 3.

A date has not been set. Neither has a weight, for that matter. Both men have bounced around between middleweight and light heavyweight as of late.

In recent months, Silva has produced over the top, pro-wrestling style promo videos where he’s yelled at Sonnen through a camera and staged a confrontation at an expo, but his original, organic dressing down of Sonnen in a car while the pair were both doing UFC public relations activities is the real, enjoyable watch. We imagine being told, “In Brazil we have a saying – you have respect, you don’t lose your teeth,” by The Axe Murderer in a calm, even voice, is terrifying. Sonnen certainly looked a bit nervous.

Bobby Green Replaces Injured Jamie Varner, Fights Pat Healy at UFC on FOX 9

UFC Bobby Green

On Monday, Jamie Varner announced a torn rotator cuff has forced him out of his UFC on FOX 9 fight against Pat Healy. Less than 24 hours later and Healy has already been issued a new assignment on December 14.

Bobby Green (pictured), who is just six days removed from his controversial TKO victory over James Krause at UFC Fight for the Troops 3, announced on his Facebook page that he’s agreed to serve as a last-minute substitute on December 14.

“Ill be fighting pay Healy in dec in San Jose so back to work for me,” Green posted Tuesday.

Green is now unbeaten in two big league bouts. Prior to low kicking (or not low kicking) his way to a W against Krause, he rallied to submit Jacob Volkmann at UFC 156.

Healy was dominated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in his last outing at UFC 165. “Bam Bam” was impressive in his big league debut, but his win over Jim Miller was overturned to a no contest after he tested positive for marijuana.

The 155-pound affair will appear in the night’s prelims.

No word on how long Varner will be riding the pine.

Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California hosts the festivities. FOX will broadcast the main card live starting at 8PM ET/5PM PT.

Here is the show’s updated agenda:

Court McGee vs. TBD

Darren Uyenoyama vs. John Moraga

Cody McKenzie vs. Sam Stout

Roger Bowling vs. Abel Truji

Pat Healy vs. Bobby Green

Mac Danzig vs. Joe Lauzon

Danny Castillo vs. Edson Barboza

John Dodson vs. Scott Jorgensen

Chad Mendes vs. Nik Lentz

Carlos Condit vs. Matt Brown

Urijah Faber vs. Michael McDonald

Joseph Benavidez vs. Demetrious Johnson (UFC flyweight champion)
