With Wanderlei Silva “running out” on his drug test with a scheduled fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 175, UFC President Dana White thinks that he is going to get punished and really pay for it.
“There’s no loose ends with Wanderlei,” White told media Thursday. “I think the Wanderlei story is not going to end well. You know how this commission is right now. Always, not just these guys, but always. When you get caught taking performance enhancing drugs you’re gone for a year, or whatever the suspension is, but it’s never good. I think, and I honestly know nothing about what’s going to happen, but I would have to say they’re probably going to make a serious example out of Wanderlei.
Wanderlei Silva is scheduled to appearing in front of the commission on June 17th where he will most likely get punished. Everyone would be shocked if he did not and where he goes from there is unknown.
“When the commission shows up to drug test you it is what it is,” said White. “If you’re doing something wrong, you’re going to get caught. Running from it just makes you guilty.”
Dana thinks that Silva should have done something other than walking out on the test. Call somebody, Google translator, something other than that.
“There’s no way in hell [the NSAC] are letting him off,” said White. “No way in hell. They are going to bury Wanderlei Silva. In my humble opinion. They’re going to bury him.”
It looks like Silva’s career in the UFC is over.
