THURSDAY 6/12 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's on the site this afternoon:
-Our roundtable this afternoon features reactions to Chael Sonnen's retirement following his failed drug test. Excerpt from Dan Moore: “His staged explanation of the drug bust was fraught with inconsistencies, and the whole debacle certainly doesn't paint him in a good light. We've come to expect the exaggerated and altered version of truth where he is involved, but this time he should have simply held his hands up and told the truth. As soon as he found out about the failed test, thoughts of retirement must have been close behind, so he didn't really have anything to lose.” Head to the main listing at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser for the full roundtable.
-Jon Fitch will remain on the WSOF 11 card, as they've tapped Dennis Hallman as a replacement. That bout will now happen on July 5 on NBC. Head to the main listing for more information on the new bout.
-Daniel Cormier underwent an MRI on his knee this week, which revealed a badly torn LCL and significant damage to his ACL as well. He's hoping to avoid surgery, but that might not be possible. Get more with further thoughts in the main listing.
-Nick Diaz commented on Anderson Silva's striking game in a video that hit the internet this week, saying Silva should fire his current trainer and hire a new boxing trainer after his fight with Weidman. That Diaz-Silva fight still seems sensible at this point. Check out the comments from Diaz in the main listing.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
