SATURDAY 4/26 MORNING NEWS UPDATE
Check out the big update on the App's home page for new notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's a rundown of the news on our main listing this morning:
-It's fight day! We'll have full round by round coverage of tonight's televised fights for UFC 172 in the main listing at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser, but we'll also bring some quick results here to the app if you're just looking to see what happened on the card. If you want to follow along with our live coverage tonight, make sure to be tuned in to the new mobile site on your mobile browser on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or Android tablet!
-Glover Teixeira's coach John Hackleman discussed the variety of weapons and abilities at his disposal, and expressed extreme confidence that Teixeira will beat Jon Jones tonight at UFC 172. Get the quote with my further analysis in the main listing at MMATorch.com.
-Vitor Belfort has broken his silence since falling off the map following the TRT ban. He now says he's gotten everything figured out, he's done tests on his own time, and he's ready to return. Further, he wants the fight with Chris Weidman at UFC 175 this July instead of Lyoto Machida. That's not likely to happen, but he'll more than likely fight the winner around October or November.
-UFC Champ Jon Jones ran into former teammate and friend-turned-foe Rashad Evans this week ahead of UFC 172, and he told Fox Sports that he “honestly missed him.” It's not entirely surprising given the time that has passed since their bout two years ago. Get more in the main listing!
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
