SUNDAY 5/25 AFTERNOON UPDATE
If you're tuning in to the App for the first time in a while, make sure to check out the big update on the App's home page for notes and information on the changes made to the new mobile site at MMATorch.com in your mobile browser. Our tech team has been working on even more tweaks based on your feedback, and have optimized the site for Safari and the default Android browser. They're continuing to work on the same for both Chrome and Opera as well. Keep sending your thoughts in to mmatorch@gmail.com so we can make the mobile site the best experience for you! We truly appreciate the feedback, and we're making changes as necessary. Here's what's hit the site so far today:
-I wrote out some high praise this morning towards T.J. Dillashaw and his performance over Renan Barao on Saturday night, as it was one of the more incredible individual performances I think I've ever seen in the Octagon. It was a fight I don't think anyone who watched live will forget. Get the full editorial in the main listing now at MMATorch.com in your phone or tablet browser.
-The UFC is targeting the rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson for UFC 177 on August 30, and it's expected to come to Las Vegas. The only holdup is finalizing a new deal with Jones, as they're in negotiations currently. More on that with commentary in the main listing.
-In other fight news, the UFC announced on Saturday that Michael Bisping vs. Cung Le will headline the Macau event on Aug. 23, with Hector Lombard vs. Dong Hyun Kim confirmed for the co-main event. More info on the fights, fighters, and the event in the main listing.
-With his title win on Saturday night, Dillashaw scored not only the biggest win of his career, but a massive payday as well with an extra $100,000 in bonus money. Renan Barao and Mitch Clarke earned an extra $50K each themselves. More details on their efforts in the main listing.
-Finally, head to the main listing now for highlights from the top three fights from last night's card.
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we continue making improvements on the new mobile site. We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
