Verbal agreements are in place for Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic to face fellow PRIDE veteran Sergei Kharitonov in the main event at GLORY 17: "Los Angeles."

It appears Mirko Filipovic will have his opponent for his next fight at GLORY 17: "Los Angeles" on June 21st.

According to sources close to the situation, verbal agreements are in place, but no fight contracts have been signed between the Croatian fighter and the No. 8-ranked GLORY heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov. Filipovic had previously been announced for the upcoming card without an opponent.

Kharitonov (3-2 in GLORY) is just coming off a unanimous decision loss to Anderson "Braddock" Silva in the heavyweight "contender" tournament at GLORY 16: "Denver." After getting dropped by an uppercut in the first round, the Russian swung the momentum in his favor and turned the fight into a fierce battle, but it wasn't enough to overcome the slow start.

Meanwhile, Filipovic, 39, is also coming off a loss, falling to Remy Bonjasky in his promotional debut at GLORY 14 in Zagreb. "Cro Cop" looked to have won the fight, but lost a very controversial majority decision in front of his hometown fans.

The main event will be the first-ever kickboxing match in the U.S. for Filipovic and his first fight in the states since losing to Roy Nelson at UFC 137 by knockout in the third round.
