UFC 172′s Jon Jones Talks Career If Not For MMA, Toe Injury

Current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has faced off with some of the greats in the sport, taking down the likes of Vitor Belfort, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans already in his brief career.

Jones, who will face Glover Teixeira next month at UFC 172 in Baltimore, was asked on Twitter which 205-pounder in UFC history he would most like to have had the chance to fight.

And “Bones” went ahead and listed three of the greats in former champs Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell or Randy Couture. The three men all held the title and dominated the sport for several years.

Jones broke the record for most successful and consecutive title defenses of the light heavyweight belt, a mark previously held by Ortiz. He has also set his sights on a future run at heavyweight, where he would join Couture as the only fighters to hold both the UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight titles.

He also answered several other questions, saying he “would’ve been in the military” if not for MMA and that the toe injury he suffered last year vs. Chael Sonnen is “finally 100-percent again but I still tape it.”
