SATURDAY 4/19 MORNING NEWS UPDATE
-We'll have live coverage of UFC on Fox 11 today at our new specially-designed mobile site, which you can access in your phone or tablet web browser at MMATorch.com. We'll bring results here to the app later today, but for live thoughts and play by play, MMATorch.com on your mobile browser is the place to be throughout the day!
-To get ready for tonight's card, check out my preview of the event from last night with a main card breakdown and fight picks for the full 13-fight card. I'm going with Travis Browne, Liz Carmouche, Edson Barboza, and Yoel Romero to pick up wins on the night's main card. Check out the full preview on the mobile site for my reasoning on those picks. The new mobile site has been designed specifically for iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Android tablets. The tech team continues to work on issues raised by your feedback, and new improvements in user experience and our graphic interface will be rolling out next week!
-Also up in the main listing now is predictions for tonight's top three fights from members of the MMATorch team. Most are picking Travis Browne in the night's main event, but are split regarding the Tate-Carmouche fight and the Cerrone-Barboza bout as well. Excerpt from Cash Norman: “This is by far my favorite fight on the card. It has the potential to be explosive. Cerrone is a wily veteran who is good at setting guys up and finishing them. Barboza is an explosive and very athletic muay thai practitioner with powerful leg kicks. I have been watching Barboza closely since he entered the UFC, and had he not gotten derailed temporarily by his fight with Jamie Varner, I think he would be in the title picture in the lightweight division.”
-Speaking of Cerrone, he talked about his bout with Barboza this week in an interview for UFC.com, and said he's coming in looking to secure one of the bonuses on the card. I don't think that's necessarily his best attitude into this matchup, because there are better ways for him to defeat Barboza than an all out firefight, and going toe to toe trying to be exciting with Barboza could lead to him getting in trouble. His full thoughts and my analysis at MMATorch.com in your mobile web browser now!
-In our fan poll this morning we were looking for predictions on tonight's main event. Thus far a vast majority are in agreement with me and the panel on Travis Browne taking this by TKO tonight. Get your votes in now!
We thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we work through the brand new mobile site launch!
