Scott Jorgensen's latest loss in the UFC's flyweight division came about in highly unfortunate fashion, as he was damaged badly by a headbutt from Jussier Formiga, and by the time he had regained his bearings, Formiga was all over him. He tried to fight it off on the ground, but Formiga eventually locked on a rear naked choke to force the submission.
Jorgensen appealed the decision with Brazil's athletic commission (CABMMA), but they decided on Friday to uphold the decision.
CABMMA has denied @Scottjorgensen appeal. Won't supplant it's judgment for a non-call in the cage. @arielhelwani @LarryPepe @jeremybotter
— MMA Inc. (@MMAInc) April 4, 2014Regardless of outcome of CABMMA appeal, we hope @ufc will give @Scottjorgensen a rematch.
— MMA Inc. (@MMAInc) April 4, 2014Jorgensen himself made a play for a rematch, posting a shot of the Formiga fight frozen on screen at the moment of the headbutt, saying Formiga won't do that to him again.

— Scott jorgensen (@Scottjorgensen) April 4, 2014Penick's Analysis: It's unfortunate that this all played out against Jorgensen here, but hopefully the UFC can give him another fight here soon, even if it's not the rematch. Because of the controversy, they could book the bout again, but Formiga's camp will think he's got no reason to take the fight again. Regardless, Jorgensen should get another UFC fight.
