Dave Deibert of Postmedia News first announced the bout. While both fighters are on winning streaks, the match up is a bit odd. Porier is number 6 in the UFC rankings, while Corassani is not in the top 15. However, Corassani does bring a 3-fight winning streak into the bout, with wins over Andy Ogle, Robbie Peralta, and Maximo Blaco. Porier, who is nearing title contention, looks to to build off of back-to-back wins over Erik Koch and Diego Brandao.
The “Tuf Nations: Australia vs Canada” finale takes place in Quebec, Canada, on April 16, and is headlined by a bout between top Middleweights Michael Bisping and Tim Kennedy.
