It would seem that news failed drug tests continues as two more fighters found themselves sidelined, this time it was revealed that welterweight Matt Riddle and bantamweight Franciso Rivera are currently serving suspensions behind positive post-fight drug tests from UFC 149.
Riddle (7-3) earned a “Submission of The Night” victory over Chris Clements, while Rivera (9-2) took a devastating first-round knockout over Roland Delorme.
Both fighters are carrying out a 90-day retroactive suspension, but will not have their wins overturned. Shirley Stunzi of the Calgary Combative Sports Commission, remained mum as to what exactly the banned substances were. However other reports have indicated that Riddle was suspended for marijuana and Rivera for an over-the-counter stimulant. Both men will be eligible to fight once again by this Friday.
